Bremen, Germany

About RoboCup@Home
RoboCup@Home is a new league inside the RoboCup competitions. It
focuses on
real-world applications and human-machine interaction with autonomous
robots. The aim is to foster the development of useful robotic applications that can assist humans in everyday life.
The league consists of a series of independent tests. The test
scenario will
be a home environment. The tests will change over the years to
become more advanced. Performance measurement is based on a score derived from competition rules and evaluation by a jury.
RoboCup@Home will be held for the first time at the RoboCup
competitions
2006 in Bremen.
Test Criteria
RoboCup@Home is a framework consisting of tests increasing in
complexity
over the years. Criteria of the tests are listed below.
The tests should:
- include human machine interaction
- be socially relevant
- be application directed/oriented
- be scientifically challenging
- be easy to set up and low in costs
- be simple and have self-explaining rules
- be interesting to watch
- take a small amount of time
Suggestions for new tests or changes in existing tests should
fulfill as
many of these criteria as possible. In the first year (2006 in
Bremen) there
will be four tests with focus on different research areas.
Call for Contribution
Interested research groups are asked to contribute in the discussion about
the implementation of the proposed tests, the suggestion of additional
tests,

the RoboCup@Home email list. Interested groups are asked to pre-register until the 15th 30th of January 2006. Final rules will be published after the
pre-registration phase. Further information is provided at the RoboCup@Home
