A RoboCupRescue project has received 3-year funding from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology

The project "RESCUE - Cooperative Navigation for Rescue Robots" got 3-years funding (~ 100 000 USD) from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, for research on cooperative robotics, both fundamental and applied to indoors (e.g., football robots) and outdoors (e.g., search and rescue) scenarios.

Pedro Lima, leader of the RoboCup middle-size league ISocRob team, is the principal investigator of the project, whose team includes another ISocRob team member, Luis Custodio, as well as three other ISR/IST PhD researchers and professors, spanning mobile robotics, intelligent control, artificial intelligence and computer vision research areas.
